Latisana
Piazza Indipendenza,
There was a festival on the first weekend we were there
Tagliamento River
The cathedral, dedicated to St. John the Baptist, was rebuilt in the 17th century
While it has lost its historic centre due to war and floods, Latisana makes a good base for a holiday.
It has
- a main railway station (trains east towards Trieste and west to Venice)
- bus station (south to Bibione and Lignano, north to Udine)
- supermarkets (Lidl, Coop, Eurospar)
Lignano
This is a modern holiday resort, with miles of golden sand (private beaches)
