We stopped in Shaftesbury on our way home from Weymouth.

The very steep Gold Hill was made famous in the 1970s Hovis advert

Its hill top position gives views south

Town Hall

 

St Peter’s Church originated in the 14th century; was disused in Victorian times; used as a grain store in WW2; restored and reopened in 1977, and became the parish church again
