At Castellammare di Stabia we went in the cable car up Monte Faito 1102m (3615ft) and walked along the ridge to chapel of San Michele. We met a shepherd with his dogs taking his goats for milking
There were great views of Vesuvius
At Castellammare di Stabia there are country roman villas to visit – Villa Arianna and Villa San Marco
We were surprised at the details of the wall paintings.
