A trip to Amsterdam and the Anne Frank House Museum, by train from Gouda

Most of Amsterdam’s canals were dug in the 1600s.

This bridge dates from 1883. It replaced a blue wooden bridge and is still called the Blue Bridge, although not blue!

A duck store – sells only toy ducks

Begijnhof Garden – almshouses around a garden, with a chapel

Left and below – The Anne Frank House. Eight people hid for two years in rooms above a warehouse at the back – a grim story
