June 2017 Map of walk For a map of Lake Como, see introduction
A stream separates Lenno from Ossuccio and we were staying near by. A church was built on the mountainside in 1532, and 14 chapels were built on the way to it between 1635 and 1710. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We could see it from our balcony, so had to walk up there
We passed this old church on the way
One of the 14 chapels
Inside the chapels are frescoes and life-sized statues depicting biblical scenes
At the top is a baroque church
Looking northeast to Bellagio on the point
The Lenno peninsula (we will walk to the the end of the peninsula later)
Next – Villa Balbienello, Lenno
