3rd January 2018 First walk of the New Year 3.5 miles map of walk
We walked along the canal from Wallbridge to see the restoration at Bowbridge
At Capel Mill we saw a working boat where the canal, river and railway viaduct converge
Canal path at Bowbridge – canal left, river right
Restored bridge at Bowbridge – it used to be completely filled in
Restored lock at Bowbridge, from the bridge – lock gates replace concrete
New houses centre back. When we lived at Bowbridge there were only a few cottages by the vet, now there are 3 developments.

Warp and Weft are 2 mud boats that were new to the canal in 2016

We returned to Capel Mill via the path above the railway line – the canal is full to the brim

Then we followed the river back to Wallbridge
At Walbridge they are restoring what is left of the old Stroud Brewery

A new section of canal has been created at Capel Mill, as the old one was filled in and is now a road under the viaduct. There was one opportunity to walk in the new section, before the water went in
