Although not an official mountain it has mountain-like terrain. Much of the mountain was quarried for stone to build the huge breakwater that is 1.5 miles long, built 1846 to 1875.

There are old industrial sites, coast walks, sea views and ferries to Ireland.

Walk 1 1.8 miles

A gunpowder store remains

The back wheels were made in Gloucester

An afternoon walk from the country park

Walk 2 2.5 miles

This was built for the contractor building the breakwater, but is now a burnt out hotel

On the way back we stopped at Trearddur Bay

Next: Chirk Castle, Wrexham
